Dropbox app gives a message about updating on Ubuntu 22.04
Hello
I have installed dropbox on Ubuntu 22.04. Since a few days it complains that I need to update it. It is version 149.4.4568
I have downloaded the deb on https://www.dropbox.com/install-linux...

Hi alreadytaken,
Make sure your Dropbox application is closed/isn't running (no any icon, dialogs, messages - like the above, etc). Next execute following command in a terminal window:
rm -rf ~/.dropbox-dist
Might needed to wait for a moment and after shell prompt comes back in terminal window, try launch the application anew. 😉 Is it working now?
Hope this helps.

3 years agoHey alreadytaken, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Would you mind giving us some more info on this?
If you're getting a specific error message, can you also send us a screenshot, so we can look into it?
Cheers!

well, what more info do you need? I am a happy dropbox user who installed it on ubuntu 22.04 in the past using the previous mentioned guide. Now this pops up. And I can't get rid of it. If I click on update it takes me to the setup instructions. I installed it as per the instructions there, but get the same error message.
Thank you
