New message notifications will not go away
I have several “unread” messages from Dropbox which when opened or marked as read the “2” displayed above the icon will not go away. The marked as read button does nothing and there appears to be no...

In Dropbox iPhone app, I have a red circle with a 1 in it on the home page house icon and on the notifications bell icon.
(I used to have one on the icon app on my iPhone home screen, but I got so sick of looking at it without being able to clear it that I turned off badge notifications.)
I have three messages on the DB iPhone that show as unread not matter what I do to "read" them - either by trying to open them or using the "mark all as read" option.
(Curious why the red circle has a 1 when there are 3 unread messages.)
On my DB desktop app, I do not have a red-circle anywhere , and all three of those same messages show as read.
Help please - I'd like to finally clear this irritating and meaningless red circle.
Thanks,
Judith
P.S. Screenshots and a screen recording available upon request.

Hey amcoffice, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you open the Dropbox app, tap on "account", then on the gear icon, then on "clear cache", to see if that helps?
Keep me posted.
- Monty32 years agoHelpful | Level 5I have the same issue as of yesterday. Red circle shows 3 unread notifications but there are several notifications showing as unread. Following suggestion on clearing cache does not work. Any other ideas? Thanks

Stuck notification red circle cleared after I uninstalled and reinstalled the iPhone app - hopefully that's not a recurring issue.
Thank you.

- LDale2 years agoExplorer | Level 4I have the same issue. Clearing the cache did nothing. I don't even see the message when I tap on it. It just goes to the main screen.

I have the same issue on iPad. It says I have 2 notifications. There are actually 5 unread messages. I can try marking them as read and it does nothing. I can open each and every one and it does nothing. I can reboot and it does nothing. I can remove the app and reinstall it and it does nothing. This is clearly a software issue and Dropbox need to rectify it as soon as possible.
