Unable to launch the desktop app on Windows 10

So I have had the same problem I see listed elsewhere. All of a sudden I am unable to launch the desktop app. If I uninstall and reinstall, it will work that one time. I saw instructions that required use of the registry editor for advanced reinstallation. IS THAT REALLY DROPBOX’S SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM?! That is truly crazy and unacceptable. If there is a less invasive solution, I would love to hear it.

    In general, if a reinstallation of the Dropbox desktop application using this link only resolves the issue temporarily, then we do recommend the advanced reinstallation steps.
