Dropbox no longer linking to both business and personal accounts (Mac)
Hi all,
I'm stuck in a loop here. Last week perhaps there was a Dropbox update (?) and now I can only have my personal Dropbox Plus account OR my business account linked to my machine. When I try to link the other, I go through a loop of:
"Would you like to connect the computer XXX to your Dropbox account?" -> YES -> Dropbox app restarts -> Account is still not linked.
I'm not using the new File Provider option yet. I've gone into my accounts and manually unlinked all my devices, and no luck.
How do I get out of this loop?
I'm on the Mac, Sonoma 14.3.1
Desktop App: v197.4.7571
Thank you very much!

Hi Robotkid, and thanks for reporting this here.
Do you perhaps remember what the Dropbox update was about?
Also, after the Dropbox app has restarted, do you receive any errors? Are you seeing a second Dropbox folder being created and then it gets suddenly deleted?
Can your Dropbox accounts be linked on www.dropbox.com with no issue?
Keep me in the loop.

Thanks Nancy.
I just assumed there was a Dropbox update because my Desktop app started giving me new notifications (like the notification regarding the File Provider.)
After restart, I don't see any errors. Before it restarts, I can see the "syncing" icons start moving on files in Finder that are from the account I'm trying to re-link... but then they stop. I'm not seeing a second Dropbox folder.
My accounts are linked on dropbox.com with no issues.
One additional note: My personal Dropbox is on my internal drive, my Business account in on an external drive. (This has worked fine like this for years.)
Thank you!- NancyDropbox Staff
Thanks for that info, Josh! Which Dropbox account were you logged into when you first got the update notification?
Can you also send me the filepath of the local Dropbox folder that’s linked to that account?
