Can't access email to get 6-digit code
I can login successfully, but needs me to check 6-digit code in email.
Before immigration, login dropbox never needs me to check 6-digit code in email.
After immigration, it needs me to check 6-digit code in email. (same computer)
My email account was disabled (long time no use and I forgot the password), I can't login to my email to check the 6-digit code.
I only want to login Dropbox without check email 6-digit code, so what can I do?
Thanks
Paddy123, is there any chance you have any devices that are still linked to that Dropbox account (via a desktop/mobile app)?
If yes, please check their notifications as the one-time code may be there.
Let me know how that goes.

If you're being sent a one-time security code or if you've forgotten your password, you need to have access to the email address on the account in order to gain access to the account. You best option would be to contact your email provider to see if they reactivate your email address.

If it says you need one then you cannot circumvent that I'm afraid.

I have been reading all the posts regarding the 6 digit code sent to old, unavailable email addresses. I am now a victim to this issue and I am so ill over the chance of losing years worth of stuff. I have yet to read any solution other than "contact your old email provider." How is that possible when it is an old work email address from 10 years ago? I just was in my account yesterday and now for some reason, it is asking for a 6-digit code?????
Are you really telling people they can't gain access to their stuff? There is absolutely no work around?? If so, that is absolutely crazy to me and so unfortunate. How do I can my subscription?

Hey Izzan, sorry to see that you're having this issue.
As well as checking out the article that Rich linked, I'd also suggest opening a private browsing/incognito window and going to this page, to submit a help request to our support team, so they can assist you further.
When you get a ticket number, please send it along here as well.
- dkassandra69New member | Level 2I have my Dropbox account I still have the password but it sends a code to an email that was hacked does anyone know how else I can get in?
- HannahDropbox Staff
Hey dkassandra69, sorry to see that you're having this issue.
Do you perhaps have any devices linked to that account? Because the one-time code will show up as a notification on those too.

Plz help and sign in my account once- NancyDropbox Staff
sweetybhardwaj, do you have any other devices that are linked to your Dropbox account (via the mobile/desktop app)?
If yes, please check their notifications and let me know if you can see the one-time code there.
If not, can you access the email address showing here, so that we can log a ticket for you?

I can’t log into my Dropbox account because I can’t remember the password and the email associated with that account no longer exists, so I can’t get the code that would allow me to change the password. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I just read something about Notifications, which Windows 10 has in the lower right corner of the screen. Is it correct that Dropbox sends the security code there when trying to login with a deleted email address?
- tightpurchaserExplorer | Level 3
Hello again! It's been a while since I last viewed Dropbox. I don't know how I did it before. My newest account is under the current GMAIL address. I had other addresses under which I had accounts here. We never got over the problem of my having all these accounts when I would rather have one. This is a Windows 10 64-Bit system. I have not tried to access Dropbox on my other computer, the Mac Monterey, upgraded from Catalina. When I try to login with an obsolete email address, your site tries to send a security code to that same address, not giving me the option to redirect it to my GMAIL address. Offhand I had an address with a service that I no longer use. So, I have content I cannot access due to email addresses that I have trouble remembering. Please help me get it all under this one, the address I am currently logged in. Thank you.

tightpurchaser, do you have any other devices that may still be linked to that older Dropbox account? If yes, please check their notifications to make sure the one-time code hasn’t been sent there.
If that doesn’t work, we can log a ticket for you instead and send it over to this email address.
- tightpurchaserExplorer | Level 3
Nancy, as I began, I do not have other devices other than what I named at the beginning of this thread. Yes, you can log in a ticket. I am not going to try to login with those past addresses. Here I had a difficult time logging in and don't know how I got in. Also, too many other users are posting their questions here when they should have started their own separate threads. Please see that they do that. That way it will become clear that the moderators are responding to me. There is too much confusing information here.

Rich, the problem is not remembering the email address. Your site sends verification, or security codes to that no-good address. At this time I am not going to try to login with those addresses. I had a hard enough time logging in here and don't know how I got in.
- Charlotte85New member | Level 2Hi there ,
I had loads of important files on my Dropbox account which was associated with my old work email. The company now doesn’t exist and therefore the email address doesn’t exist . I can’t get the verification code being sent to that email in order for me to log on.
There’s no option for it to be sent to a phone number … any ideas on what to do?- HannahDropbox Staff
Hey Charlotte85, sorry to hear about this.
Is there a way to reinstate or recreate that email address, maybe?
