Is it possible to change about 700 team member's email addresses (tld) at once ?
hi, we have to change about 700 team member's email addresses (only the tld), is it possible to do that at once ? API or something?
- 6 years agoHey there (Pazmoto) & everyone else following this thread, I’m pinging you all again with some great news as you can now bulk-import members to your team through a CSV file (i.e. a spreadsheet)!
Bulk member import is a way to use an uploaded CSV file to invite members in bulk through the admin console. This is ideal to use if you’d like to invite a large number of users at one time, or if you’d like to assign the first & last name and add users to groups at the same time as inviting them.
Please bear in mind there is a 1,000 user limit to the number of email addresses you can invite in bulk at any given time. We also require that the uploaded CSV file be in a specific format, which can be downloaded from the Members page in the admin console.
In order to get going with that, you'd have to fill in & upload a templatized spreadsheet with each member’s email, first name, last name, and group (or team).Spoiler- Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin Console.
- Click Members (or navigate here).
- Click Invite members.
- Click Import CSV file.
- Click Download template to fill out the CSV.
- Import your filled out CSV.
- Click Continue.
- Click Send invites.
Please do let me know on this discussion if you have any questions about this new feature or you experience any issues. Cheers!

Hey mxoh, I’ve moved your comment here, in order to point you to Walter’s reply above. Have you had a chance to check these features?
Can you let me know how these suggestions work for you?

Jane None of these features are relevant actually. The problem I face is that I already have almost 200 users under the email domain ___@abc.com that I want to change to ___@def.com. I know how to change Dropbox email address individually but is there a faster way to change all users from the old email domain to the new one?
- Jane7 years agoDropbox StaffAs Walter had mentioned, we know that it doesn’t address your inquiry directly, though I was wondering what you’d like to do exactly & (for that reason) tried to follow a more global approach before. However, your last reply was very helpful mxoh & I’ve got a better understanding of what you’d like to do.To re-iterate my colleague’s reply, while currently mass changing the domain for your team members isn’t an available feature, we’ve both transferred your interest on to the relevant team for future reference. (In other words, you’ll have to follow the change Member’s email addresses flow to move users from your old domain to the new one.)I ran a search on my end as well for this question, which resulted in changing settings within the AD Connector. I don’t know if this is part of your setup at the moment, though this is the closest I could find to get going with that a bit more efficiently.I hope that this is-even slightly- helpful & I’m always here in case you need further assistance in any way!

Hi ahles I wonder if you know how to run python codes? As I think I found the solution to our problem: https://github.com/dropbox/DropboxBusinessScripts/tree/master/Users
There is this updateEmail.py script that you can run. Hope this helps!
- ahles7 years agoExplorer | Level 3This is what I got from Kevin (Dropbox Support) Kevin, Sep 12, 5:57 AM PDT: Thank you for your request. My name is Kevin and I will be assisting you. I have investigated further to see if we could find a suitable workaround for you to mass change the domain for your team members but unfortunately at the moment it is not something that is available with Dropbox. The only way will be for either the members or the admin change the email addresses manually. I know this is not ideal so I have passed this feedback on in the hopes that this could be a feature we provide in the future. Thank you for contacting Dropbox support. Regards, Kevin

Kevin,
On April 1, our dropbox email addresses will change. How can I make this change and not disrupt service? Thanks.
