My Dropbox was hacked. All my files are gone. I tried to retrieve them but it says there no files de

My Dropbox was hacked somehow. Even with the security and passwords. However, that wouldn’t be a problem with a software engineer. This person has remained anonymous but has been into my phone more than once over the course of about 1.5 years. My files are gone and it’s says I don’t have files that were recently deleted. This angers me, it was a lot of time and effort to find and create my projects. I need my files back . But how????

If they were permanently deleted they are not recoverable. Unless you have another device which has not yet sync'd the deletion? Have you checked those - make sure they arent connected to the internet though when you boot up.

In terms of how long this has been going on - did you not change your passwords etc.?

If the files were permanently deleted then it may not be possible to recover them. If I were you, I'd contact Support directly to see if there's anything they can do. They don't work on weekends so you'll need to wait a few days for a response.

In the meantime, verify that no one has access to your account. Change your password (reset it if needed), enable multi-factor authentication, and review the sessions and devices connected to your account on your Security page. Personally, I'd clear all sessions and devices and relink those that you're in control of.
