I've left comments for some students, but they can't see them after sharing the files.
I have made comments on some students' papers. They are visible on my end. They are also visible on my professors' end. They are NOT visible when they share them back to the students. If we download the files to make sharing easy for the students, there are no comments anymore for the students to see.

Corrupted Word Documents
I am at my wit's end! I didn't realise that DropBox would corrupt files. I now have several Word documents in a folder that I need for my course work assessment which are no longer Word documents and which won't open. I'm actually really worried - I trusted DropBox and am actually thinking I shouldn't have...Can anyone tell me what has happened please? Also my tutor is unable to open the PDF files - they open with a padlock and are so tiny he can't read them...he is one of those listed as being able to open them (TM ). Please help me - I need all this for my assessment and am now seriously worried. Thank you.

How to View a Shared File???
I received 2 emails that said a client shared 2 files with me via Dropbox. In each email, there is a View File blue button to click, which I did. I was then prompted to create a Dropbox account which I did. I opened a free basic acct. In my "Shared" folder [left-hand Nav], I see what I think are two files shared with me -- they are large video files. When I click on them, I see the message that they are previews and in order to see the full file, I must "add them to my Dropbox." These files are too large to download. I have tried that. How THE HECK do I add these shared files to my Dropbox??? Thank you.

Cannot download files
My colleague sent me a link to several files. I logged into Dropbox and I could see the files in "recents". When I hovered over a file, there was no ellipsis and option to download. When I clicked on "options" it said I had to download a video app. When I clicked on that it said it wasn't working. I just wanted to download the files anyway and then use different apps to open them. Why could I not download them?

Video download problem - no audio/hissing
I'm trying to download a video that was sent to me. When I preview the video in dropbox the audio plays fine, but when I download the file and play it I just get a loud hissing noise.

Printing/Downloading a PDF from DropBox
I work in the IT department in a county office building. We have public users that incounter errors when trying to download/print PDFs from dropbox. The errors are different between Chrome and IE. In Chrome the PDFs will open blank or will print blank. If opened in IE when you click print it begins a download and then gets stuck. With both situations we have eleminated all possible issues from our side. No network issues or restrictions, no profile restrictions, nothing to do with our network or setup. There does not seem to be a common denominator. It happens with 3mb files, with 100mb files, with 30mb files. It will also randomly print all those sizes and any in between. We cannot manage to resolve this for either IE or Chrome. Does anyone have any input?

How to lock Excel files and prevent two people from editing them at once?
Question about viewing/editing permissions in an excel file that is shared on dropbox- I have an excel file that is shared through dropbox but not on the actual excel file. Multiple people use this excel file to keep track of things on a spreadsheet, however, when two people are in it at once, the saves get messed up and it creates a new file where it saves for the user that edited it, but it does not save on the original file for the other users to be able to view. I'm not sure I fully understand the problem so I hope I have adequately described what I believe is going on. Basically, I am wondering if there is a way to lock the dropbox/excel file so only one person can get into it and edit it at one time, but everyone that it is shared with still has their same permissions to be able to edit it- but only when no one else is in the file. I hope that makes sense.

Dropbox says another user is viewing/editing a file, but he is not.
When I open some of my company's Excel files, Dropbox's badge indicates my coworker is viewing and/or has unsaved changes. But looking at his PC, he doesn't have Excel open and the Excel lock files are not in the directory with the original files. Any suggestions?
