Just today, I started getting this message when opening files that I’ve been able to open in the past, it says “No preview available. To view this file, open it on your computer. I use my iPad & iPhone 99% of the time to open my Dropbox files.7.4KViews0likes17CommentsCan't open pdf on first generation ipad
I occasionally use my 1st gen iPad for display purposes. I transferred a pdf via Dropbox, and when I clicked on the file to open it I got a gray page. And seemingly no way back to the file list. I tried closing Dropbox app but it reopens with same gray page. I restarted the iPad but same happens. My next step would be to delete and reinstall the app, but I'm not sure I could download a version for Ipad OS 5.1.1 - the latest for this ipad. Any ideas of how to get back to a functioning Dropbox welcome - preferable without re-installingSolved3.5KViews0likes12CommentsWhy is my Dropbox link not giving people the option to Download on their iPads?
I have been testing a link for a folder in my Dropbox. I have a paid subscription. When I share the link with someone to download the file on their iPad, it only gives them the option to Save to Dropbox - which is not what it is supposed to do. I don't get this on my iPad when I use the link - and I am not signed into my Dropbox on my iPad. Also, because I have been troubleshooting it seems that if the recipient has the Dropbox app - this is occurring. I am not sure if this is what is causing this to happen, but I don't think so. Is there some glitch now that if someone has the Dropbox app on their iPad that if they get a Dropbox link they can only save to their Dropbox? If so, this needs to be changed. It does not allow them to download to their iPad - only Save to Dropbox - even if I force the link by using dl=1! Has anyone else had this issue? Dropbox, we need this issue fixed. I have seen others have written with similar issues and they have not been addressed. Clearing the cache and using another browser does not fix this issue.3.4KViews0likes11Comments".7z files can't be previewed" message
I have always been able to preview and extract .7z files on Dropbox. They are small 15 kb or less size files. Today when I attempt to access a .7z file, I am receiving the message".7z files can't be previewed" . I checked the Help Center and under "File types that preview as a zip file". It states "If your file has one of the following extensions, it will preview as a zip file. You’ll be able to see a list of all folders and files within the zip." The .7z file type is included. What has changed? I am running version 346.2.6.Solved2.4KViews0likes6CommentsLooking for feedback on how the mobile app preview experience can be improved
Hi my name is Aska and I'm a member of the mobile app team at Dropbox. I'm currently working on improving the previews experience in our mobile app and I would love to hear some customer feedback on any of the following: Are there certain actions or workflows that are difficult to access on this page? What are some things that you would like to do on this page? Are you able to easily identify your file when previewing it? Does the page provide enough information about your file? What is your experience when it comes to opening and closing a file? And anything else that comes to mind This would help me get a better understanding of any issues with the file preview experience on mobile and hopefully assist us in make some improvements to how you preview files on mobile in the future. So if you have any experience with previewing files on mobile, be it good, bad or indifferent, I'd really love to hear about it. Thanks in advance, and have a great day!2.4KViews4likes0CommentsOffline files failed to download on Android mobile app
Been getting this error message in my app notifications an awful lot recently. It usually happens after I've added a new file via the share function on my Android tablet, though there may have been other circumstances too. (The most recent one was such a file, but this time the error occurred when I manually set the file to be available offline.) (Clarification--when I share the file/upload it to Dropbox, that part works okay. But it for some reason then says offline files failed to download although that wasn't what I was attempting to do.) It may be a false alarm message, as when I then force a sync to update my offline files, I never notice it downloading anything new, and that function always seems to work okay (so far). I haven't been offline yet to prove if files are actually available or not, though. I will update this thread in a moment with my app version and system info. Dropbox app version: 358.2.4 Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Android 12 This is something that's started occurring in maybe the past couple of weeks, unsure, but it's recent.Solved2.1KViews0likes5CommentsUsing full screen view of PowerPoint on iOS (iPad) jumps between slides
I have a problem where using full screen on a PowerPoint (.pptx) presentation will show me a different slide than what I started from. This behavior gets worse the more slides the file contains. As an example, going into full screen (by tapping ones) on slide 20 will land you in between slide 24 and 25 in a file of 45 slides. Exiting slide 24 in the full screen mode will return you between slide 19 and 20. This makes it almost impossible to use the full screen view of PowerPoint on both iPad and iPhones. The Dropbox app is updates to version 322.2 on iOS 16.4 but the issue have been there across multiple devices for the last 5 months. Can anyone help with a solution or help to get this reported as a potential bug?2KViews0likes11CommentsCannot view a shared video

Confused. Have had Dropbox app on an Android tablet since new, but having just done a complete reset to get rid of some issues I can no longer download the app as it says it's not compatible with my device. All answers I've come across say it's because it needs Android 6.0 or above but my tablet uses Android 7.0. I can access files from a browser window but this requires downloading them first. I'm hoping there's a simple answer! Thanks.Solved1.8KViews0likes6Comments
