I am running out of space with my 1TB drive. Is there an option to get 2TB? I know about Dropbox for business, with 5 Tb, but the price is just not compatible with my needs. It is too big a jump from 1Tb price to minimum of 5 users at $ 15 each.Solved26KViews31likes70CommentsVAT details missing on Dropbox Pro Invoice
I have gone through the VAT related questions on the forum. It seems, the Dropbox admin is not getting the question. Hence, I am sending a copy of my Dropbox Pro invoice (which does not show Dropbox VAT number nor VAT separately) to HMRC (Tax Department in the UK) as it is a legal obligation in the UK to give a VAT receipt showing VAT number of the seller and VAT rate as well as amount. This is necessary for a business in the UK (and for that matter anywhere in Europe) to claim back the VAT paid on the service. This is not applicable if Dropbox is not collection VAT but it is quite clear that they are charging VAT. Now if they are charging VAT, then they must remit VAT collected to the Office of Revenue Commissioners in Republic of Ireland and we as a user should be able to claim this VAT back if we are using the service for our business and we are VAT registered in any of the EU countries. So it really surprises me to see the reluctance of Dropbox to simply resolve this issue by adding VAT details on the invoice (and it is not that they don't have this facility in their invoicing system because they are already providing VAT invoice for Dropbox for Business subscription) I guess I will leave HMRC to deal with as they have gone quite strong now-a-days with issues like this.Solved11KViews5likes8CommentsIs it possible to get a refund for a Dropbox for Business purchase?
Here's the full story. In January 2105, I worked for a company and signed up for DropBox for bussiness account using my work email address. In March 2015, I left the company and lost access to that email address.I personally lost access to thatservice in March 2015. This January, 5 days after my personal credit was charged $850, I contacted DropBox and asked for a refund over the phone. The person on the other line said there's no way for him to transfer me to the billing department and said that I can only submit a ticket via email. I submitted a ticket via email and got a response that my concern was escalated. A day later, I was notified that I'm not eligible for any refund. I responded again asking to look into it again and asking for the phone number to call to reach the billing department. I got the following response: "Iam currently the highest level of support and am more than willing to assist you with your concerns. This issue has already been escalated and no exception could be made in this case. I do apologize for the inconvenience. At this point, I would suggest disputing the charge with your bank/credit card company." There was no easy way for me to remove my credit card information from that account. There was no way for DropBox to notify me about the fact that my card will soon be charged because I lost access to that email account. Dear DropBox, is this really how you do business? Do you think it's fair to do this? Please understand, it was impossible for me to prevent this charge and cancel the service on time. At this time, I'm ready to go public about this issue and notify major tech news website about how you treat customers. thank youSolved14KViews5likes29CommentsMy personal account was accidentally merged into a Business Account
I have a personal Dropbox account for my work as a journalist. My business partner created a new Business Account and invited me to join only to access certain files. When I went to accept the system asked to "merge" the accounts and not understanding what that meant, I clicked yes. Then Dropbox notified me that my personal account was closed and they were refunding me my fee. How do I extricate myself from this? I do not want to own the Business Account or have that for my own Dropbox, I only need access to it. How do I restore my Personal account and revive the subscription? The person who created the new business account says it was a mistake, but doesn't know how to fix it and one can't "call" Dropbox, nor is there a way to change accounts. Hi There, We need to run Bitnami web stacks but the path contains spaces because of the Dropbox folder name. How do we rename the folders so there aren't spaces? Or if we unsubscribe from Dropbox for business (we've found it kind of painful in practice) will the personal dropbox folder name get renamed to 'Dropbox' (without spaces/brackets)? Cheers BenSolved11KViews2likes9CommentsMy subscription got cancelled when accepting an invitation to join a team
I have a personal plan, and accepted an invitation to collaborate as a Team on dropbox from a client. Automatically when accepted, all my dropbox folders are part of this client's plan, and my subscription has been cancelled and refunded. The dropbox on my computer has now my client's name. This is not what I intended, I genuinely assumed the invitation was to a shared extra folder. I have written to dropbox, but see no live chat or number is available. How does this can be fixed and reversed to what it was, as soon as possible?Solved2.8KViews1like14CommentsNeed access to Files after Business Account expired.
My team had a business account, but it expired. We need to temporarily gain access to our account to download all of the files, but we do not want to pay for the entire year for the business. I do not see where I can reinstate for a short period of time (maybe 30 days?).297Views1like1CommentCustomer Service Access Error
We have a Dropbox Business Plan with several licenses but the Dropbox customer service website incorrectly says we have a Basic plan and will not let us open an email ticket or show us the telephone number. Everything worked last week when we opened a ticket. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have the Dropbox phone number?Solved7.4KViews1like22CommentsDocSend Partner program
Hi folks, I am part of the DocSend Partner Program through my accelerator and am receiving a discount. You can see from this blog postthat I should be able to get discounted pricing for Dropbox. [Quote from blog: "Founders associated with any investor, accelerator, or startup community that participates in theDocSend Partner Programwill now be eligible for Dropbox for Startups."] Despite having a recently activated DocSend discounted subscription, I cannot find any information on how to get access to discounted Dropbox services. The dropbox page athttps://experience.dropbox.com/lp/startupsis utterly unhelpful for someone who is part of the DocSend Partner program. It only provides referring your VC/Accelerator to Dropbox but that's pretty useless for any VC/Accelerator who is already part of the DocSend Partner Program, isnt it? Can anyone help figure out who to contact to help get Dropbox set up? Looks like this initiative was announced but maybe never launched/followed-through by dropbox?Solved3.4KViews1like11Comments
