Hi everyone, This is my first post here, so I’ll start with a brief introduction. My team and I run a photo- and videography company based in Amsterdam. We rely heavily on Dropbox for uploading and previewing files in our daily workflow. For years, we used individual accounts, and while not perfect, things were manageable. However, earlier this year, we decided to upgrade to a Dropbox Team account (5 members), hoping for better collaboration and streamlined processes. Unfortunately, the experience has been anything but smooth. From day one, we noticed significant performance issues. The most critical problem is uploading files through the browser. Often, when we try to upload, nothing happens—the page stays stuck in a "loading" state. Refreshing either freezes everything or causes chaos: files start uploading randomly, sometimes double, and often to the wrong folder. We then have to wait for uploads to finish and manually move files to their intended location. This process is extremely time-consuming and frustrating. Previewing files (photos/videos) has also become a nightmare. Sometimes previews load instantly, but more often, we’re stuck refreshing repeatedly, waiting 30-60 seconds per file. It feels like a lottery whether a preview will work at all. These issues weren’t present when we used individual accounts, and it almost seems like Dropbox Team accounts operate on overloaded servers or an entirely different system. We've done all the standard troubleshooting and tested other storage providers to rule out hardware or internet issues—everything works fine except Dropbox. We're using top-tier hardware and the best internet speeds available in Amsterdam. To be clear, I’m not looking for "contact support" suggestions. We've already been down that road. Unfortunately, Dropbox support tends to focus on basic troubleshooting ("Have you tried restarting your computer?") rather than addressing the root cause. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues with Dropbox Team accounts? Are these known problems, or is it just us? Honestly, if this persists, we may need to reconsider our storage provider. We'd love to hear if others have found workarounds or solutions. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.37Views0likes4CommentsHow user-friendly is Dropbox on web, and how seamless is your collaboration with your team?

Dear all, I have Windows 11, latest Dropbox professional version (University of Florida) installed. Files and folder located inside the Dropbox folder located in D are very slow to open. Files in C and D drive outside the dropbox folder open fast. This tells me hard drives are fine, it is the Dropbox folder the issue. If I move big or small files from D:\UFL Dropbox\ into D:\ they are very very fast to open. When I move them back, very slow to open. This speed issue also occurs when I pause Dropbox or I quit it entirely. Any suggestions?191Views0likes3CommentsHow user-friendly is Dropbox on mobile, and how seamless is your collaboration with your team?

I access Dropbox via the web browser, however, when I am in my Shared Folders, there is a dropdown that is constantly there which means I cannot access the first one or two shared folders that I am in. If I use Dropbox as an application on my desktop I can only enter the shared folder I am currently apart of. As I do not have a lot of storage, I need to remove myself and add myself to different shared folders regularly. Do you know how I can remove this drop down? I have tried accessing this via Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Incognito on Chrome and it appears on all three. I have also cleared my browsing history.899Views0likes15CommentsIs there a text or log file that lists current sync issues on a Windows device?
I think I know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway. On a Windows device, is there a text or log type file with the current sync issues for that device? I am an admin and trying to troubleshoot with remote users. As a first step, I would like to use my already installed remote management software to read a file that contains the current sync issues / status before starting a remote session with the user to troubleshoot. Does a file like that exist? I am thinking something in C:\Users\*\AppData\Local\Dropbox\sync.log. Any thoughts on if this exists or is feasible?Solved580Views0likes3CommentsDropbox app for Windows non functional, stuck at "starting"
Hello, Since yesterday, my team (8 users) are encountering problems with Dropbox app for Windows, systems are Windows 10 and Windows 11 so I assume it's not related with any system issues. After restarting the computer, app continues to work for about 5 minutes, after that time Dropbox options from right click menu disappear, and we cannot open any files, that were not downloaded. When we try to restart the app, it keeps getting stuck on "Starting". I assume it may be related with file path limit, but how to identify the long path? Could you please help with the issue? Thanks in advance.951Views1like7Comments
