I am running out of space with my 1TB drive. Is there an option to get 2TB? I know about Dropbox for business, with 5 Tb, but the price is just not compatible with my needs. It is too big a jump from 1Tb price to minimum of 5 users at $ 15 each.Solved26KViews31likes70CommentsDropbox personal professional vs. business standard
Hi I would like to know how the community comparing these two plans. I already have dropbox personal plus and my company give me a dropbox business account. However, I really want to use smart sync in my personal folder. Of course, I can save my files in dropbox business folder, but I just don't want. So, there are two options for me, personal professional and business standard. I only want to use smartsync in my personal files, which option is the best? I see that business standard is even cheaper than perosnal pro... How the community members comparing two? A little bit confused.Solved17KViews0likes3CommentsIs it possible to get a refund for a Dropbox for Business purchase?
Here's the full story. In January 2105, I worked for a company and signed up for DropBox for bussiness account using my work email address. In March 2015, I left the company and lost access to that email address.I personally lost access to thatservice in March 2015. This January, 5 days after my personal credit was charged $850, I contacted DropBox and asked for a refund over the phone. The person on the other line said there's no way for him to transfer me to the billing department and said that I can only submit a ticket via email. I submitted a ticket via email and got a response that my concern was escalated. A day later, I was notified that I'm not eligible for any refund. I responded again asking to look into it again and asking for the phone number to call to reach the billing department. I got the following response: "Iam currently the highest level of support and am more than willing to assist you with your concerns. This issue has already been escalated and no exception could be made in this case. I do apologize for the inconvenience. At this point, I would suggest disputing the charge with your bank/credit card company." There was no easy way for me to remove my credit card information from that account. There was no way for DropBox to notify me about the fact that my card will soon be charged because I lost access to that email account. Dear DropBox, is this really how you do business? Do you think it's fair to do this? Please understand, it was impossible for me to prevent this charge and cancel the service on time. At this time, I'm ready to go public about this issue and notify major tech news website about how you treat customers. thank youSolved14KViews5likes29CommentsHow do I change my billing currency/country?
I have just upgraded my wife's account to Pro in Australian $ and would like to change my billing currency to Australian $ as well (as I've now been here for 10+ years!). There seems no ability to change my base billing currency from USD (what it was when I first subscribed) to AUD so that my credit card doesn't continually get hit for international currency conversions and foreign currency commissions. Given that I just saw the Sydney Opera House as the front slide on the sample Parnsip.Inc presentation on your Dropbox for Business webinar, presumably you could address this internationalisation issue?! Again, as we are all so mobile now, the concept of moving countries should be in the Use Case scenarios... Or must I cancel/downgrade my Dropbox Pro subscription and then re-upgrade? I'm even happy to switch to Annual from Monthly (but it still wants to take the charges in USD 😞 !) Many thanks for your expected response... I am trying to troubleshoot a problem reported by my users, and am looking at a Dropbox for Business detailed activity log. It immediately raises about a million questions, about how to parse and interpret the log. Is there a written guide anywhere that explains this? Surely someone has some notes on things like: Most of what you want is in the Info field, which you're going to have to split on colons, commas, brackets, and braces (each of which delineates ... what?). The Info field starts with a WHATISIT? field that is one of these in double quotes: target_users, host_id, member_ids, file_obj_id, file_name, ... Specific things are referred to by their _id fields, which you can translate into object names by ....?Solved12KViews0likes3CommentsVAT details missing on Dropbox Pro Invoice
I have gone through the VAT related questions on the forum. It seems, the Dropbox admin is not getting the question. Hence, I am sending a copy of my Dropbox Pro invoice (which does not show Dropbox VAT number nor VAT separately) to HMRC (Tax Department in the UK) as it is a legal obligation in the UK to give a VAT receipt showing VAT number of the seller and VAT rate as well as amount. This is necessary for a business in the UK (and for that matter anywhere in Europe) to claim back the VAT paid on the service. This is not applicable if Dropbox is not collection VAT but it is quite clear that they are charging VAT. Now if they are charging VAT, then they must remit VAT collected to the Office of Revenue Commissioners in Republic of Ireland and we as a user should be able to claim this VAT back if we are using the service for our business and we are VAT registered in any of the EU countries. So it really surprises me to see the reluctance of Dropbox to simply resolve this issue by adding VAT details on the invoice (and it is not that they don't have this facility in their invoicing system because they are already providing VAT invoice for Dropbox for Business subscription) I guess I will leave HMRC to deal with as they have gone quite strong now-a-days with issues like this.Solved11KViews5likes8Comments
