Hey everybody, as Dropbox acquired Boxcryptor, i wanted to know what is the current landscape about encyrption and where it is stored aswell as GDPR. On a second note, does somebody have a pricing tabel for all the available plans?56Views0likes6CommentsWhy have there been changes to Dropbox Advanced / Business Plus subscriptions?
Dear Dropbox Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a long-term subscriber to the Dropbox Advanced / Business Plus plan, which my organization has used since 2017 primarily for file storage (completed projects, library, work hour records, etc.) and file sharing among 2–3 users working on active projects. Over the years, we have observed significant changes to the plan's conditions and pricing, which I would like to bring to your attention: Subscription History: • 2017–2021: €540/year, with unlimited storage included. • 2022: Updated to €648/year (+€108/year), still with unlimited storage. • 2023 onward: Maintained at €648/year, but unlimited storage was replaced by a fixed limit: 15 TB of paid storage (covering 3 licenses and all add-ons). An additional 11 TB valid only until October 31, 2028. Cost Analysis: If we compare these costs with external hard drive solutions: • An 8 TB Seagate Barracuda external drive currently costs less than €150. • 16 TB = 2 drives (€300), 24 TB = 3 drives (€450), 32 TB = 4 drives (€600). Over the years, our total Dropbox expenses are as follows: • 2017–2023: €4,644 (5 × €540 + 3 × €648). Equivalent to 240 TB in external storage (30 drives). • 2017–2028: Projected total€6,588 (5 × €540 + 6 × €648). Equivalent to 344 TB in external storage (43 drives). This raises the question: by 2028, after paying €6,588, we will only have access to 15 TB of permanent storage on the Business Plus plan, which is less competitive compared to other cloud / storage solutions. Policy Impact on Loyal Customers: We understand that some users have misused unlimited storage plans. However, the response to restrict storage capacity significantly impacts regular users who have adhered to fair usage practices. It feels unjust for loyal subscribers of 8+ years to bear the brunt of these policy changes. Request for Consideration: I kindly ask Dropbox to internally escalate this concern and reconsider its storage policy for Business Plus customers. Long-term subscribers deserve a fair and competitive offering that acknowledges their loyalty and business needs with the following adjustments: • Revise the storage limit by gradually increasing the storage for Business Plus subscribers according to their needs. • Evaluate individual cases to ensure that customers like us, who have used the service responsibly, are not unfairly penalized. I am confident that Dropbox values its long-term customers and will take steps to ensure we receive a fair and competitive offering that aligns with our ongoing needs. Thank you for your attention and support in resolving this matter. I look forward to hearing from your team. I had cancelled my teams and now my other account is gone. how do I get it back? In other treads it said to reach out to the administrator, but as I was the admin, not sure how that works. I just want to go back to buy plus account that had all my stuff in it.18Views0likes1CommentI requested to cancel my plan and haven't got a refund yet
So it began with a 'FREE' trial for 30 days - I needed one use out of it. Yes my fault, did not write down when to cancel, even got an email saying that I wasn't using Dropbox enough. 3 days after they charged my credit card, I see it on my statement = CA$312.48 I go to cancel. NOT knowing 2 things: When you drop down to BASIC plan, email support, live chat support and phone support aren't supported on the Basic plan. Chatbox is included but it's unhelpful, it takes you around in circles. Now I'm here in Community forums and I'm not sure if anyone with authority is able to help me get my money back. When you cancel your subscription, MOST subscriptions will still allow you to have access to your subscription features until the end of the active billing cycle. NOT THIS ONE. I automatically paid for the year, realized what happened, cancelled my subscription without knowing the first fact and now I'm screwed. Do I need to pay for Dropbox Plus, Professional, Essentials again? To maybe get my money back for the first payment and this second one? Well done corporate entity. You know people forget **bleep** and this is how you're set up. Happy Holidays, checkmate for you.59Views0likes7CommentsAccessing a deactivated Business Account
I had a PAID Business Account that I can no longer access. It's like it has been deleted. When I attempt to log in, Dropbox acts like I'm trying to open a new account with that email. My personal account works, but a while back Dropbox arbitrarily unlinked the two when some changes pushed through. I need access to my files! HELP!956Views0likes8CommentsI opened a Business account for my team and lost my personal account - how do I get it back?
I wanted to set up a Business account for my team, so I have set it up using the trial period. But I didn't want to lose my distinct personal account (Dropbox Pro) with my private files. However Dropbox has now merged my personal account into the team. I see the instructions for removing a team member and allowing them to make their files personal again, but I cannot see how that can work because that means removing myself, but I also need to stay as member of the team. Completely stalled now - suggestions welcome!28Views0likes1CommentCan I become a team admin, if the current admin has left? I want to pay for the team plan.
Folks. as it turns out I've been uploading to a clients shared Dropbox and they stopped paying for the account. I just caught it after 3 years. The ADMIN is gone and Im only a support admin. How do I pay for it and become the admin? The old person is long gone and no one from the company is answering me. If anything how can I just move all my images to a new Dropbox? Thank you for any help y'all can give me. Walter15Views0likes1CommentWe already paid for our Business plan, but now we're being asked to pay again.
Hello Dropbox Support Team and Community, We are experiencing a critical issue with our Dropbox business account that urgently needs resolution. Less than a month ago, we encountered a problem with adding a payment method to our account. After considerable effort, this was resolved, and on November 23, our credit card was successfully charged, extending our account through 2025. However, despite this confirmed payment, our account has now suddenly been blocked, and we are being prompted to pay again. Additionally, we have found it impossible to get in touch with Dropbox support through any direct channels. This situation is completely unacceptable as our business relies heavily on Dropbox for its daily workflow, and this disruption has brought our operations to a standstill. We urgently need our account access restored without any further charges, and we also request a proposal from Dropbox to compensate for the impact this has caused to our business. Dropbox team, please treat this matter with utmost priority. We need immediate assistance to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance. Sam - The ProductioneersBusiness account gone - I got locked out and the account got downgraded
Hi For years I've had a Dropbox business account and last renewed in February for three members. But today I was locked out of it and my plan reverted to basic, meaning nowhere near enough data for me and my team. The reason may have been an expired credit card, even though my subscription should run through February 2025. Does anyone know how I can get back into my business account?
