File right-click does not reveal menu options like 'make available offline' on Windows

When I right-clicks Dropbox files in Explorer, I only get these options:

I am NOT getting the option to "make available offline".

How do I remedy this?

Thanks.

    Hi Megan

    I'm not understanding your suggestion.

I've been using DB for many years.

I've always been able to toggle between "Online only" and "offline" by right-clicking the files/folders and nominating which storage option I prefer.

    Now I cannot do that?

    Am I missing somthing?

    Best
    David

I'd be happy to explain, but I'd like some additional details on my end David C.163.

Would it be okay for me to reach out internally, in order for us to have a closer look?

    Hi Megan

When I click on folders or files within the dropbox I do not get the options. See photo below.

When I hover over the dropbox icon I only get the word "dropbox". See photo below.

I've just installed, so guess it is the latest version - right?

Thanks for all the info David C.163

At the moment your files are available offline. What you wish to achieve is make them online-only (icons with the little cloud).

I did some research on my end, and in order to have the online-only option you'd need to join the Dropbox for Windows 10+ beta. You can to opt-in to the Dropbox early release program

Dropbox for Windows 10+ beta is available to a limited number of users who turn on early releases. If you’re randomly selected to participate, you’ll receive an email when the update is available for you.

    Hi Megan

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I've not updated the OS because the computer is brand new.

    I went through the steps.

DropBox already occupies the first 10 places on the register. See below:

    Hmm!?

Thanks for checking anyways David C.163!

In your two initial screenshots, it looks like you're clicking directly onto the Dropbox folder.

If you click on a folder residing in your Dropbox folder, do you see the option there, or still no luck?

I'd also like to know the app's version and syncing status. You should be able to find that info by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your task bar, next to your WiFi. Can you try once again?

    Hi Walter

When I hover my mouse there is no information on status or version.
(I assume it is the latest version of Dropbox since I reinstalled yesterday.)

On the folder synching icons, you may be able to see better on this photo.

But all the folders have icons - all are the little green check mark.

I would like to make them all the little cloud.... but not getting those options.

On other software interfering, this computer is straight out of the box! Some files are saving to OneDrive?

      Hi David C.163!

Have you recently updated your OS by any chance?

Also, would you mind following these steps and let me know if anything changes?

    Hi Walter,

This is a brand new install of dropbox on a brand new Microsoft Surface PC.

Snip pictures of (i) OS system (ii) Dropbox desktop app and (iii) right click options are all below.

(Btw, I uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox but that did not help the situation.)

     Thanks! Greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks for the additional info and the screenshots too David C.163 - much appreciated.

Can you just hover you mouse over the Dropbox icon in your system tray to see its status and version as well? For example, is it 'up to date' or syncing?

Also, I'm still not able to see any syncing icons on your files in the Dropbox folder, so you might want to check if any 3rd party app is interfering (like cloud, syncing,  backup or security software).

Hi David C.163 - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please clarify your computer's OS version and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your system tray?

A screenshot of the options you get when you right click on files inside your Dropbox folder showing their syncing icons as well, would also help!

    Thanks!
