Hi all,
Native Apple silicon support is now fully available. All users with Apple silicon devices will receive the native version of Dropbox automatically. If you would like to update your device manually, you can do so by clicking on the latest Stable Build and downloading the Offline Installer (Apple Silicon) file. For more information, visit the Dropbox Help Center. If you need assistance with anything else, please feel free to create a new thread and our community team will be happy to assist.

As others have stated, lack of M1 support sacrifices battery usage considerably. I’m honestly considering not renewing my Dropbox service and moving to a solution that doesn’t hurt my machine as much. Why, when so many other providers have thought nothing of this, is Dropbox dragging its feet? You’re relying on passive support that users would take the initiative to come here, rather than understanding your user base and the expansion of Apple’s evolution to M1-based machines. To me, that shows your company to be short-sighted at best, and self-absorbed at worst. Quite frankly, I’m kind of over Dropbox. Google Drive has been making so many leaps and bounds in its desktop apps, and just works better, for a fraction of the cost. And it works natively on M1 machines.
