Bring back the green 'synced' checkmark in the system tray.
In my Windows system tray (next to the clock), Dropbox used to show that it was fully synced by showing a green check-mark over the Dropbox icon. This was really helpfull.
If Dropbox was offline, it would show no overlay icon.
Recently (and according to Dropbox itsself) this has changed, the Dropbox icon now shows no overlay if it is fully synced, but to me, i constantly think my Dropbox is offline, instead of 'fully synced'.
So the idea is: please bring back the green 'fully synced' checkmark. Or -at least- make it an option to show it.
Please upvote this idea if you agree

I miss the green tick also - but OK.
Might be an idea to edit the text on this page...
https://www.dropbox.com/help/desktop-web/sync-icons#desktop
...to remove the highlighted text...
A green circle with a check mark is a wonderful thing and what you'll see most often. When it appears on the Dropbox icon in your system tray or menu bar, it means your Dropbox is fully synced.
...which is no longer true.
UPDATE: Well it seems they are reading this forum as the text correction has been made at least for the #desktop version. However, I wouldn't count on getting the green tick back. I would put money that someone's end-of-year bonus is riding on this and my long experience of this type of behaviour tells me that they will tough it out until the rage fades....

Yes, PLEASE bring the green checkmark to the Dropbox logo on my system tray.
The update is 37.4.29.
Bring it back PLEASE.

Until now I've never read the dropbox forum so when the green tick vanished I ended up emailing support thinking something was wrong. This is not the way to do things, Dropbox!
I have no idea who authorised this change but it needs reversing immediately. We all new the status of our dropbox with a simple glance - now it is messing with my brain as others have pointed out - no tick tells my brain that dropbox is offline.
Sort this out, Dropbox!
Are you listening to us? Dropbox!
Please at least give us the option to have the green tick back.

Dear team
I have been using your great application for years for both personal and work related tasks. We employ it throughout our company as a default way to share and store files. Your latest change, which removed the green checkmark was not well recieved by any of us.
I personally find it bad to lose the reassuring feel the green icon gave me. Right now it looks as if the application was not connected to the internet (we actually tested how it looks if it really is disconnected and the change is minimal, hard to notice).
I really hope you will bring the old icon back, as default or as an option.

This reminds me of when Microsoft removed the excellent start menu that we had in Windows 7 and replaced it with that awful thing in Windows 8.

100% agree - the green tick is so much easier to see than a slight change in shading of the icon.

Yes, please bring back the checkmark/tick. I also thought my dropbox was broken and keep having to check to make sure it's in sync. I have decent vision but even against a dark toolbar, I can barely tell the difference between offline and synced. This is most disconcerting and it's not a useful change at all.

Hello. This is my first post here, although I've used Dropbox for several years. I did not even visit this forum until today. I'm here because, like many others replying on this topic, without the green tick I thought my Dropbox had failed to load today, or that something else must be wrong. Having wasted a lot of time, and still shaking my head in disbelief that changes like this are not notified in advance, I can only repeat what nearly everyone else is saying: please bring back the green tick!

Hello
the main reason to use a system like dropbox is that you are visually sure that your file is instantly uploaded
the green 'synced' checkmark in the system tray will confirm it , no way to doubt
just a slight change in the shading of the icon is not remarkable and does not help at all !
Use a green icon if you want or please, please bring back the green 'synced' checkmark in the system tray again
thanks

Hi Dropbox,
I spent ages trying to figure out why the green tick had disappeared, before I ended up here.
Before: A quick glance and I see a green tick, and I'd know instantly all is well.
Now: I'm constantly worrying that Drobbox has disconnected, and having to squint at the Notification Area icon to see if I can tell whether it's white or slightly-less white.
What a monumentally daft change this is!
I've long been thinking that it might be worth a switch to OneDrive but... inertia. However, I'm getting ever closer to that moment when I've had enough, and poor UI choices like this (not to mention your appalling new website design) aren't likely to persuade me to stay.
I think this is pretty much your last chance at retaining my $100/year. Bring back the green tick!
Thanks.
Scott.
