DB is consuming massive energy and making my MacBook Air super hot. Desktop app missing in action.
Running Sonoma 14.4.1 on M2 Macbook Air.
Desktop app no longer showing up in menu bar (!!!!!), DB is taking up 97% of usage making my MacBook super hot. Tried reinstalling app twice, still no desktop app in menu bar. I mean how can I do ANYTHING without being able to use the desktop app!
I have used DB lightly for ten years. I am spending $15 a month for what exactly? Ready to dump this bloated, ridiculous app that use to be simple and is now simply ridiculous and taking over my computer. I can't even figure out how to dump the app without losing all my files. Held hostage by this silly bloatware.

Hi crabcakes, let's see what we can find together about that!
When you say that you no longer see the Dropbox icon on the menu bar, are you talking about your small Dropbox icon, next to your WiFi or the bigger one on your menu bar that re-directs you to your Dropbox folder in Finder ?
It might sound trivial, but have you tried re-starting your device at all since you noticed this?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan, thanks for your reply. The icon next to my wifi. It hasn't been in my menu bar for a few months. And yes, I restart my machine regularly after using Cocktail and in this instance after reinstalling DB.

Hi crabcakes, when you reinstalled the app, did you perform an advanced reinstallation?

Jay I'm scared to do so as it might delete my Dropbox files, no?
