Sure. So I've logged out and back in to my dropbox, updated DB (without uninstalling), and restarted my computer multiple times. I've removed the dropbox folder from my finder favorites and re-added. I've disabled and re-enabled the dropbox "finder extensions" button in my system preferences. I think that's it.
I haven't done a full uninstall and re-install yet as I was hoping to avoid having to re-offline lots of large files. But I could try that overnight.

Hi Hannah,
Granted DB full disk access but no differences with the sync icons.
I'm going to do the full re-install tonight. Will let you know if that works!

Thanks, Cody, will be looking forward to your reply!

So it seems as though granting full disk access did the trick. I think it must not have fully refreshed permissions until I did a system restart over the weekend (which I had thought I had done right away).
Thanks for the suggestion!

didn't work for me.

Hey Scissoir and Glue, sorry to hear about this.
Can you please clarify your device's OS version and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar at the moment? - Cody_P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Also chiming back in here as I just saw Scissoir and Glue's last message as well. The icons were working for me but have mainly disappeared again. They came and went a couple times but they've been gone now for at least a week now unfortunately.

Hey everyone! Just to make sure we’re on the same page, can you please let me know if you’ve all already tried to reinstall your Dropbox app and also, refresh your Finder?
Also, Scissoir and Glue, can we open a ticket for you, and investigate this further by looking into your Dropbox account?

I'd love to see a screenshot of what the icons are SUPPOSED to look like in Finder. Can anyone share?
- Megan2 years agoDropbox Staff
Hi dropitlikeitshot1, I hope you're doing well!
You can see more, in regards to the syncing icons, in this Help Center article.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!

Hi Nancy,
Yes. I've re-installed the app and refreshed finder. The thing that temporarily worked for me was when I granted dropbox full disk access and then restarted my system. I had the icons for a short while but then they disappeared after another system restart.

Hi Cody_P, if you're still facing the same issue, can you try an advanced re-install, please?
- Cody_P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Hi Megan,
Sure. I can give that a go.
- Cody_P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
I haven't had time to do the advanced re-install yet, as I rely on large amounts of synced files and need to make sure I have time to re-download if the install clears them, but after updating the software on a mac studio display that I frequently use, the sync icons are magically back. Not sure if they'll stay but will let you know!

can you send a screenshot of what it looks like?
- Cody_P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
So you can see all these folders are synced as they have the green check mark.
- dropitlikeitshot12 years agoHelpful | Level 6
wow. i definitely don't have that. and that's on Venture?
- Cody_P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Yes. Ventura 13.3.1. I've had them showing off and on since upgrading to this OS. Will be curious to see if they stay after a system restart.

Hi —
I am encountering the same problem. New computer, running Mac OS Ventura 13.5, with Dropbox v180.4.4912.
Dropbox folder is in the main directory of my user folder, Dropbox has Full Disk Access, Sync settings specify "Available Offline." Sync activity is showing in the menu bar activity pane, but there are no status icons in the Finder window.
Right-clicking on a folder in the Dropbox does not show anything Dropbox related, such as making individual folders available offline.
Rebooting Dropbox app does not help, rebooting computer does not help.
Help!

UPDATE:
I performed an Advanced Reinstall (https://help.dropbox.com/installs/advanced-reinstall), using the Terminal commands there.
It appears to be working (partially) now: the topmost folders are showing blue syncing status icons in Finder (and a few the green check); the right-click contextual menus shows Dropbox commands below Quick Actions about half the time.
Will wait to see if it stabilizes.

FURTHER UPDATE:
The status icons are missing again, after computer went to sleep and was reawakened. Contextual menu no longer shows Dropbox commands.
Not good.

Hey vcaston, sorry to hear about this.
Could you send us a screenshot of the app's exact status as shown in your menu bar at the moment?
Also, if you happen to be running any 3rd party apps that might be monitoring your files somehow, you might want to take a look at this discussion too.
In any case, please keep me posted!
