I can't access my account as I don't have access to the email

I no longer have access to a Dropbox account that was using my former work email.  I know the username and password. The posted solutions (below) suggests:

I know my Dropbox password but don’t have access to my email address:

If you know your Dropbox password but don’t have access to the associated email address, log in to Dropbox then immediately change your email address.

However, after entering the username and password it tells me that it's sent the security answer to the email (that I can no longer access). There is no option to "immediately change your email address".  Please help resolve this catch-22 situation (I can't change the email address without using the email that I can no longer access).

It may not be possible to gain access, however, the only people who can help are Dropbox via www.dropbox.com/support. Note that you need to message them while not logged in - even here, so, use an incognito window.

I appreciate the response. However, the link provided is a login page. How am I supposed to message them without logging in?

You need to click on it while not logged in at all (as I said) at which you can choose 'Get Help Logging in' click through to a new page and fill in a support form. If you are logged in, even here, it WONT work.

Actually, never mind. I do appreciate your help but I have wasted enough time going in circles. At this point, I will just consider my files lost.

Not a great endorsement for Dropbox.  The solution provided on the website does not work without access to the email used as the username. The chatbot provides the same response as the website.
