I don't see all my files on www.dropbox.com and I'm running out of hard drive space.
I spent nearly 2 hours with customer support and they said they needed to escalate my case to someone else. The someone else sent me a link to the general Dropbox information to read through volumes of documents to figure it out myself. My hard drive is nearly full and when I go to delete files on my computer, I am being prompted to say the files will also be deleted from Dropbox. What the??? Can anyone help me? I am at wits end. Also, when I click on the shortcut on my homepage, I can see all of my files. When I go to Dropbox.com, none of them are there. I am missing something here...help!!
Data Loss After PC Factory Reset
Hello - Recently, I reset my computer to factory settings due to a suspicion of hacking. As a result, I had to format my drives, including one that was linked to Dropbox. Before the reset, I checked and believed that the files on this drive had been backed up to Dropbox. However, upon looking today, it appears I have lost a significant amount of critical content; only one file remains in the folder. I am reaching out to see if there is any possibility for Dropbox to recover these files. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance, as these files are of significant importance to me.
My account shows there are 33GB of backups, but my Backups page is empty.
Hello, My account shows that it's out of storage, I have only 180MB in regular files and a 33GB backup, but I don't see it anywhere else than in the subscription page. Nothing on the backups page. I can't delete this file to free up the space. Where can I find access to it?
Exceeding Dropbox Basic storage and need to delete any duplicate files
Hi I have exceeded the 2 gb of free Dropbox Basic storage (in UK) - only by a small amount but it has stopped syncing. I do not want to upgrade, so am hoping to delete or find duplicated documents to delete. I only use Dropbox to backup my laptop. The one folder I back up is size 1.74 gb (as found on the Properties bit on the laptop). I have deleted some files but it hasn't made much difference. I just have a feeling I am somehow duplicating back up items. 1) My Personal Dropbox storage states it's full with 733.3 mb 'Regular Files' and 1.3 gb 'Backup'. I'm not sure of the difference here, is there a chance Regular Files are duplicated and included in Backup? Hoping I can delete Regular Files. I have no shared files. 2) As well as my one folder Dropbox says I am backing up 'Desktop', size is 170 mb. Do I need to back up Desktop? Thank you for any help you can give. Skell
