Hi all, I received a very legit-looking email from a colleague (it was from her exact email address, signed off how she would do etc) which had a PDF attached for me to view. When I clicked on the attachment (via my iPhone), it opened my Dropbox app but turned into a Word doc on there (see attached computer screenshot). When I clicked on that (which is what I shouldn't have done!) it went to a Microsoft Outlook login page - needless to say I didn't log in! Now the Word doc (Klip Global.docx) is in my Dropbox account and won't allow me to delete it (it doesn't come up as an option on the '...' ). I have changed my Dropbox password and the TFA method (removing my phone number) but I want this dodgy file to be gone! Any ideas please? Many TIA, Adam21Views0likes3CommentsDropbox deleting files after uploading and restoring them
Dropbox is deleting files in seconds after both upload and restoring the files once they're deleted. There are numerous threads about this but they either say it can't happen, it is, or its user error. I don't have any other access locations active and the deletion is happening in seconds and has done so repeatedly.10Views0likes1CommentRandom unrecognized file in Recents Dropbox, that I can't remove.
I have a file that was apparently shared with me that I can only open in dropbox from the recents section, all files, or menu bar on mac. The file does not show up in any of the folders even though it says it's saved in "dropbox." When I attempt to delete/remove the file I do not have any options that allow that. I searched for a shared folder but there are none and strangely this file doesn't show up in the shared section. It's some stupid sexual anime ( which of course my kids vehemently deny knowing anything about) so I am a little concerned about hacking but the file info says it was shared with me back in April and I've had no suspicious activity in my account. Is this a support issue or am I just missing how to get rid of this file?21Views0likes2CommentsI can't use Shift + delete for my folders due to new "delete for everyone" pop-up message.
I am unable to shift+delete any folder inside my dropbox folder so I can skip the recycling bin. This seems to be connected to this new popup about asking if I'm sure I want to delete for everyone. Which is very strange, because this is NOT in a folder I've shared with anyone else. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or how I can report this to Dropbox directly?Solved87Views0likes15CommentsEntire folders vanished from my account
I had folders titled "old pictures" and "old videos." I had them only online and did not synch them with my devices, so they would not take up space. I went online to find a particular picture that would have been in one of those folders, and the folders are gone. I would have never deleted it and never received any notice that they had been deleted. They are not folders I access often, so I have no idea how long they've been missing. I only have the plan that can show deleted files for the past 30 days, and they aren't there. Are there zero options to get the folders back now, and I just have to mourn the loss of decades of family pictures and videos? It concerns me about the safety of all my other less frequented folders.22Views0likes2CommentsI get an error that I don't have permission to restore one of my deleted folders.
Hallo, one of my Folders that I created was deleted by perhaps me by accident or one of the users. I see the folder when I click "show deleted folder" but when I want to activate it, it tells me, that I am not allowed to do this. This is crazy, because it was my folder. What can I do and who can help to get thsi folder back.349Views0likes10Comments"View your recycle bin for Dropbox" - how can I disable this?
I'm not sure if it's a recent addition or if I simply didn't notice it before, but recently, at the bottom of the open "Recycle Bin" on Windows, it has a bar along the bottom that says "View your recycle bin for: Dropbox", with 'Dropbox' a link that opens my Dropbox account in the browser. Is there any way to turn this off? It's not a useful feature for me, and it takes up screen space that could be used for displaying more of the Recycle Bin contents. Thanks.Solved2.3KViews2likes14Comments
