Using 2-step verification, I've recently tried switching from receiving texts to using the mobile authenticator. However, the latter is not working. I'm getting 'invalid' code when i try to input the code generated. How is this possible? I need to access my old account. Two-step verification appears to be on. Code was sent to my old phone number, which has changed. I now have a new phone and new number. (Old phone no longer works as the screen is shattered/doesn't power on) I don't recall having an emergency backup code on hand either. I need to get into my old account. My email address for my old account is <SNIP> I know the password. I NEED TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE BY PHONE OR EMAIL A/S/A/P. I NEED A LIVE PERSON PREFERABLY. (I had to create a new email address, Google account, etc. all because two-step verification was "on". Apparently most of my online activity was linked to my old number, which no longer exists. I find it super frustrating...) There are very important files on my original account that I need to retrieve/get back. My team has dropbox downloaded on several devices. Mobiles & Tablets: both IOS and Android. Computers: Mac and PC - yet for some reason we cannot go online (tried most browsers) and access the dropbox account online. Dropbox has changed my password for "security purposes" and now I can't login. I was told to request a password reset - so I did - entered my email, saw it popup and say "an email has been sent" - and never received the email. What follows is a message I sent via the Dropbox.zendesk.com support - which I'm able to login to. The problem is, other than the obvious, I keep getting the same response - which I posted below my support request here. Can anyone please help??? My last reply to the helpdesk: I do have access to my email - that's not the problem. I've requested the password reset and I'm not receiving the email with the link in it. Hello, everyone, Google has recommended that I shorten my email address from googlemail.com to gmail.com without any changes. For all other sites where I have logged in with my gmail it works fine. But dropbox has created a new account for me and I don't have access to my client's data anymore. When I try to login with googlemail.com, I am redirected to the new account with gmail.com. Hi all - I was hoping someone could help. I cannot connect to Dropbox either by going to the website or by opening the desktop application. This seems to have happened after a windows update a few days ago. Dropbox says that I have no internet connection and that it can't connect. 1. I have tried using Chrome, Edge & Firefox in normal & 'incognito' modes but all won't connect. 2. I have booted up in to Safe Mode with networking but the problem is still there 3. Windows defenda firewall is switched off as we use Nod32. I have truned off the firewall in that application but the problem is still there 4. I have been using Dropbox on this PC for over 2 years with no previous issues 5. I have not installed any progarms recently 6. All updates including Anti Virus & windows are up to date 7. I have already spent 45 minutes on live chat to Dropbox but they could not help 8. When I open TOR I can connect to www.dropbox.com without a problem 9. There are no other issues with any other program connecting to the internet 10. I have restarted my router 11. Hi, I believe I was compromised yesterday on my dropbox. I accidently opened a pdf from an unknown email. I was then asked to sign in to my dropbox and did so. Immediately after this I changed my passords and logged off all my devices accept for my pc. I later logged back on using my new password. I just noticed this morning in dropbox security that there is still a session logged on to my drop box that is not familar to me (this session shows that it was first logged on to my dropbox on the same time as I had the episode yesterday). There doesnt seem to be a cross to turn this session off, the browser is chrome on windows, and most recent activity is showing as 'current session'. How do I find out the current user of this session and how to I turn this off or turn off all my sessions?Solved13KViews0likes4Comments
