Storage space
171 TopicsCan I share a folder with multiple users without it taking up space on their accounts?
I have a Basic account, but want to upgrade to something that will allow my small research team, based at an NGO, to save their data and articles. Our project cannot afford the multi-user options. A colleague at a research institution told me that he has the DB Plus option with 2TB space, and it allows him to share a folder with his team, without the contents in the folder counting towards their basic accounts. I cannot find any information on this on DB website. I will appreciate some help...Solved34Views0likes1CommentIs there a cheaper plan than the Plus plan, that offers more space?
my question is: Is there any plan that is even cheaper than the normal basic plan of 2000 tb? It happens that I want to have more storage space, but the cheapest plan is still quite expensive. Is there an alternative storage plan, which is cheaper?Solved25KViews11likes171CommentsGetting messages that I'm out of space even though I upgraded in January
I paid for a Dropbox plan in January, but I started receiving messages that I'm nearly out of space, and when I log in to the website, I am seeing that my plan has been downgraded to "Basic." What the heck?! I paid $120 for a yearlong plan! I have no idea how long the account has been downgraded. I only noticed it because I started getting messages that I'm nearly out of space. And to make matters worse, there is nobody to call or live chat.Solved179Views0likes3CommentsFrustrated with Dropbox Enterprise Support – Seeking Help from Higher-Level Contacts
I’ve been experiencing ongoing issues with my Dropbox enterprise account, specifically with unclear guidance and conflicting information on my plan and storage needs. In 2023, I was paying $90/month for three users with unlimited storage, but I was later informed that this plan was no longer available. I was then advised to switch to a $2,000/year plan for seven users, which was an 85% increase from my previous rate. I reached out to my original sales rep, with whom I’d been in discussions, but was told he was no longer with the company. I was then connected with another representative who set up a call with me to discuss my situation. During our conversation, this representative questioned why I had seven users on my account. I explained that I didn’t need seven users—I only needed two active users and primarily 60–70TB of storage space. However, I was previously told that I would need to pay for seven users to accommodate that storage requirement, and that $2,000 was the best available plan. To my surprise, she then informed me that my needs could actually be met for $900. After I requested clarification and asked about compensation for the overcharges, she came back with an email stating that I would still need to maintain the seven-user minimum for my upcoming renewal, with no option for an adjustment or compensation. The inconsistency and lack of follow-up have left me frustrated and seeking direct assistance from senior management. Questions: Has anyone else encountered similar issues with Dropbox enterprise plans, particularly with overcharges or being told they need more users than necessary? Does anyone know how to reach a higher-level sales representative, like a sales manager, director, or supervisor, to discuss unresolved issues? Are there any contacts, methods, or escalation strategies that have been effective for others when trying to get resolution from Dropbox? Thank you for any advice or direction you can provide.158Views0likes2CommentsEmail notification to upgrade
Hi, Is everyone on a free subscription hassled to upgrade to a much bigger (and obviously, paid) account even when they're barely using it? I have just 3.1GB of 100GB storage in use and yet I've just received an email warning me thus"Your Dropbox is almost full and is close to reaching maximum storage capacity. Once full, your files will stop syncing across devices, which will make it harder to access your files when you need them." In addition, I can't find any way to assess how much storage I am actually using other than to select everything and then download it in a zip file. The zip file was 3.1 GB so it may well be that the actual storage being used is more, but almost 100GB? No way. Curious about the experience of others. Cheers, KevinSolved3.2KViews2likes14CommentsUpgrade plan not reflected
Hi, I upgraded my account to dropbox PLUS since 20 November 2022 and already made a payment and the subscription plan is shown in my apple id's subscriptions page. However, my account still limit to only 2gb for uploading file. I tried to delete the dropbox app and re-install it again on my iphone, access the dropbox's website via PC and even tried to restoring my purchase via dropbox app but it still cannot be upgraded. I also tried choosing for another upgrade plan but it said on the app that the new update plan will start after 20 December 2020 which is after the end of my existing PLUS plan. However, this PLUS plan i already paid for is not even reflected to my account.1.9KViews0likes19CommentsWhy can't a single user get an Advanced Account without paying for 3 users?
I'm frustrated with Dropbox plans. I'm a single user who doesn't want to pay for a 3 team plan to gain more storage capacity. Currently I'm in a 5T plan that my account shares jointly with the other institution. The institutions plan was downgraded to a lesser plan. I'm the soul producer of digital material that I share with this institution. I can no long sync my material to the account since its over capacity now. I want to upgrade my account to the Advance Account for unlimited storage. I miss understood the plan pricing. It said a yearly plan was $288 thinking I could handle this pricing. But then it came to checking out it said it would be $864, shock! Then realized it was for three users at that price. Don't advertise single user pricing upfront when you can only get it for the price of $864. No one gives a crap about single user pricing when you can't get single user pricing. Please consider the little guy who is productive and is just single user team! I've loved Dropbox but your plans suck! Any suggestions or possible future plans that are reasonable for the little guy without breaking the bank.
