27 TopicsI received an email stating I've used all my promotional space, but this isn't the case.
I received an email from Dropbox this morning that basically contains lies. Now I know misinformation is becoming the norm over the pond, but I'd like to think that here in the UK we can keep a reasonable amount of truth in our communications. The email (below) claims I have used all of the free 100GB Dropbox allocated me when I purchased an HP laptop. However, a simple look at my quota used shows that not to be the case. I'd like to think that this is some form of "mistake", but I feel it is a cynical attempt to get those who are not IT savvy to worry they are about to lose information and subscribe to an upgrade they do not need. I'm on the basic dropbox plan (2GB) and my storage is full so I was going to upgrade but I have an important shared folder that is going to exceed 2GB. If I upgrade to the next tier will the other person (who hasn't upgraded past 2GB) still be able to open the shared folder or will they also have to upgrade?21Views0likes1CommentI deleted all my files, but I'm still out of space.

Hello, yesterday I made a new plusaccount.I can see that there is a bank statement for the plus account. However, when I log in, I have the basic 2GB account. I REALLY need help, please. A very long time ago my wife and I wanted to put our photos, many of them precious, in a safe place. She suggested putting them om a USB but I said we should put them on something called "Dropbox" It was free and safe. What a fool I was. Over time it said my account was "getting " full so I deleted as many things as I could and things were fine. Then without using my account much at all I went to it and it says it's full and I have to pay a large sum of money, which I don't have, in order to get into my account. It seems like kidnapping. If I were to pay the money I don't even know if I could get my photos back without deleting them all. The only thing I can think of is, paying the ransom, downloading the photos to my hard drive, moving them to a USB (my PC is old and I can't fit in a USB and a wireless USB in at the same time) and terminating my account. Even then I'm afraid I will lose everything because it says that by terminating your account all of your data will be deleted. I really don"t know what to do. Good morning, I currently have a Dropbox Plus account. I've already included a 1TB add-on with this. Now it's starting to fill up as well, and I'd like to add an extra TB to a total of 4TB. I don't see the need to switch to a Professional account, where I have to pay directly for 3 users, while I don't use this. is there a way to extend my Plus account? I just bought and upgraded my basic plan to the Plus plan, but my storage says I still only have 2GB. I also still do not have access to the help features even though I upgraded, so I cannot access those either to get help in what to do.
