Dropbox wants me to upgrade, but I shouldn't need to

I have a Dropbox Basic Account, but when I check online it says I'm using 0% of my storage. All I use Dropbox for is to look at a colleague's file when I need to and occasionally download it.

Did you also check which email address it arrived to? Did you get this at the same email address as the one that’s linked to your Dropbox account here?

I just want to make sure you don't have a second Dropbox account that has gone over-quota indeed.

Hey Shugwood! Welcome to the forum.

Can you send me a full screenshot of where you’re getting a prompt to upgrade your Dropbox account?

Are you seeing this when trying to add new files/folders to your account, that were shared by your colleague?

How is your colleague's file shared with you?

    Let me know.

      Dear Nancy

The message came via an email but I can't see how to attach it. It said that I'd used 89.96% of available storage and my files will stop syncing soon. This is meaningless to me.

When I want to look at the MHS Membership file I go to [removed per Community Guidelines]

where I can inspect and download it. If I login to my own Dtopbox account there is nothing there, so I'm not sure why I'm getting this email.

Did you make sure that the email address you received this email to is the same as the one you see here?

By the looks of it, you’re trying to download the file via a shared link, so unless you click on the option to add the file to your Dropbox account first, it shouldn’t affect your Dropbox space.
