Hi Everybody,
Thank you so much for reporting that everything is back to normal. Our engineering team implemented a fix that should restore visibility of photos in the Photos tab. If you're still experiencing any issues, let us know and I'll make sure that information is passed along.
Thanks,
Ben

I'm also up and working, after a few hours in forums and websites trying to see if I was doing something wrong 😞

Not yet for us... I'm sure that it will return to normal in a few hours ..... IOS devices seem to be working though
- derRobsiHelpful | Level 5My images in the tab are coming back. Works again on ioS and Android.
I am happy not to have resyncing my 3TB 😄 - Kevin99Explorer | Level 4
I have tried on 4 Apps (iPad, iPhone, Mac, Windows), and multiple browsers on MacOS and Windows.
NO photos are loading into Photos tab, but are found in Folders (sub-Folders)
This has started happening in past 2 days.
I have deleted and reinstalled apps, and logged off and logged on browser windows.
Please HELP 🙂
- derRobsiHelpful | Level 5There is an option to "Reset Photo Tab". Find ir on Settings in the app at the end of the list. This will completely delete the content of that tab, but then there will be a timeout. It will not rebuild the photo tab content. So I think that's where you have to look, dear Dropbox team. And yes: give us the ability to rebuild the index whenever we need to.
- Caroline doddsNew member | Level 2Gone to view all my photos and they have all disappeared. Can anyone help me get them back. I'm only on the basic account. Thank you.
- derRobsiHelpful | Level 5Same here since 2024-10-04 on 8 devices. iOS: empty. Android: 1) connection failed, empty photo section. 2) 8 images are visible from 200.
Windows Web: only gray icons, no image there.
But in the camera upload folder everything is okay. - CarolMomExplorer | Level 3
I can't get into my photos on Dropbox. I have a consistent message, "Almost there", and it's been spinning that way for hours. This is on my laptop.
If I look at Dropbox on my iPhone, I can view the photos. However, I have accidentally uploaded 11 of the same photos two times. I delete one set of them, but they keep coming back.
What's up????
- Polst88New member | Level 2I’m having exactly the same issue as is my wife so another two customers here with this new problem.

Similar issues to others in this post .... no photos being shown on Dropbox.com - tried different bowsers cleared the cache etc ... Screen shot below showing the same status after 1 hour approx...

It looks like the Dropbox forum staff don’t work weekends but hopefully this thread will be read on Monday and the issue will be logged as a fault and passed over to the developers for a speedy resolution. Fingers crossed.

I am having exactly the same issue - I spotted it just after midnight after I had finished uploading a bunch of photos. There is nothing appearing in the photos section on my iPhone, iPad or laptop. You get a rotating square going round and round. The desktop version says “connecting to server”, then “this may take a moment”, then “almost there”. But nothing!!!
- JulsSeckHelpful | Level 5This must be a Dropbox issue not a user issue. Our photos are there in the appropriate upload folders we have selected but not showing in the photos section/tab (the area must people will access to view). It is not specific to iOS, it is not related to app version. It is not related to cookies & caches. Logged out / logged in.
Please confirm Dropbox!!- -Lisa-Helpful | Level 7
So here’s where we’re at:
Device 1 iPhone iOS 17.7 app v396.2.6
Device 2 iPad iOS 17.7 app v396.2.6
Web, windows laptop
On all three of the above I have stuff showing in Camera uploads and Home but nothing in Photos.
File types are .jpg, .png and .mov, file size varies between 100kb and 30mb, all have been uploaded via the app.
The amount of storage used would seem to indicate (for me at least) the files are there but just not being shown.
I have checked the deleted items and events page but found nothing relevant.
Clear cache - had no effect.
Reset photos tab - temporarily swapped the spinning square on the Photos tab for the message ‘No photos uploaded yet’, but next time you open the app it’s back to the spinning square again.
Delete app, reboot device, reinstall app - had no effect.
I created a subfolder in Camera uploads, took some new photos, moved some stuff around, renamed them but still nothing shows in Photos.
Others are now reporting the same thing so this is clearly becoming a more widespread Dropbox issue.
Hopefully we users have now provided enough info for the devs to track this down and solve it. Good luck.

Camera folder disappeared all of a sudden, can’t see any photos on any device including on web… photos are there as they can be seen in ´home ´ or in file icons…. Under Photos tab all we get is spinning square on IOS or waiting for server…. Downdetector does not report problem with Dropbox, Dropbox status page says all is running…. Help!!
