Email says I'm out of space and files not syncing, but I have over 500MB left from 2GB.
Got an email saying I'm out of space and asking me to upgrade, now files are not accessible, but account shows space is available, is this a scam to get upgrade fees?
Also can't seem to speak to anyone about this, very frustrating, how do I know if I upgrade that it will make any difference?

And just to add that ALL MY WORD documents on dropbox now have this icon on them and will not open.

And to add this has come at a really bad time in terms of needing access to these files. 🙁

Thanks Hannah, I have never messed with file attributes and dropbox has worked perfectly for years. I have tried to changed to available offline but that hsn't helped, in fact I get new errors when trying to access files through file explorer and a new icon seems to have appeared.
I desperately need to be able to access and move these files, where can I get direct support.

Hi carnoustiegolfer, this box icon is related to OneDrive and could be causing a conflict with Dropbox.
Could you try temporarily quitting OneDrive on your machine, and let us know what icon you're seeing there?
Regarding support options, they vary depending upon your current plan. You can view all your available options when signed into your account on this page.

Thanks Jay, hmmm I don't really want to quit Onedrive as I fear that might lead to other issues.
I appreciate the tips, but my main gripe is everything worked perfectly until I got the email from Dropbox to upgrade as I was out of disk space, and files became inaccessible. So I upgraded and still it does not work. I'm not super techie so i feel that messing with other settings will likely do more harm than good.
I will try chat support as that seems to be an option.

Hey carnoustiegolfer, let me jump in here too!
As far as I understand, you're trying to download content using our website.
In that case, what is the exact error you're getting? Have you tried using a different browser, in case this is a browser-related issue?
I'm suggesting this, because you should also be able to close our chatbox by clicking the "x" on the top right part, but that isn't visible when viewing your screenshots.
Can you try an incognito tab too?
Also, in regards to the error on the screenshot you sent my way when trying to open your file locally: is this a file that's set to be available offline, or online-only? Does this happen with all of your files, or some of them?

Okay so I have upgraded today to a plus account with 2000 gb and still problems persist. I am trying to copy files using file explorer from dropbox either onto my c: drive, or onedrive, or onto a 3rd party web based drive and get errors every time. This has only happened in last few days when I got the dropbox full email, which obvs is not now the case since I have upgraded.
Feeling very disappointed with this product now.
I can copy stuff from onedrive no problem, it is only dropbox that has a fault. How can I get better support now I am a paying customer

Getting really frustrated by this, I can't even do much when signed cos there is a really annoying chat box hiding the page and I can't get rid of it, see below.
Again I'm unable to even download files from dropbox even tho I have loads of space left, unwilling to upgrade in case this is not a solution. Very poor.

I'm still getting all sorts of errors when I try and access or download files from dropbox, and not large files either. For example below when trying to upload to a 3rd party site. Even when trying to open in file explorer or attach to an email. I can see the files when in dropbox as you suggest but when I download from there nothing is downloaded!
I don't mind upgrading to more disk space but I'm now not confident that this will solve the issue :)

Thanks for posting on our Community about this, carnoustiegolfer!
It looks like you got this email because your Dropbox account is kind of close to running out of storage (not because it already has).
Did you attempt to upload any files that would exceed the 2GB mark, before you received this email? Have you gotten multiple emails like that, or is it the only one?
Even if your Dropbox account has little or no space left, you should still be able to access your Dropbox files here.
Let me know when you have more updates.
