Empty Folder on PC showing 1.5TB

The dropbox file on the E drive is empty. However, when I right-click and select properties it's showing it contains 1.5TB.

Please can someone explain why this is and what to do about it? Thank you

Have you enabled the display of hidden files and folders in Windows, and then looked inside the Dropbox folder?

Hey there, MikeBook, I'd be more than happy to help!

As a first step, would you mind clarifying the app's current syncing status

Just so that I can have an idea, and see if it's still syncing content, or if it's up to date.

If you could also attach a screenshot of the folder's properties, that'd be splendid.

I'll be waiting for your updates!

Hi Megan, I actually uninstalled the app yesterday which is why I was a little confused as to this folder still showing this. Would it help if I re-installed?

Within the Dropbox folder is a hidden .dropbox.cache folder. This folder holds files while syncing as well as files you've deleted elsewhere (the Dropbox website or other devices) for 3 days before purging them.

If you don't have hidden files and folders enabled in your operating system, you wouldn't see the folder.

Does this still work if I've uninstalled Dropbox?
