Cannot get Dropbox desktop app to run in MacOS 12.7.3

Dear All,

After trying many options, including advanced reinstall, removal, etc... I can't get the dropbox app to run on my computer (I decided to reinstall, as it was giving me all sort of problems with syncing). The app has full permissions to access the file system, however, it is stuck in the "starting" mode, and I can't even sign in. When it "crashes" it suggests I contact customer support and share the contents of a log file. However, I can't seem to be able to contact customer support directly (and the log file contains private information I won't share in a public forum).

Help is welcome, as this is very frustrating!!!

  • Dear Nancy,

I found a solution: once I started dropbox I had to (very quickly) sign out. Once I did that, and restarted the app, I was able to sign in again and everything worked as it should.

Thanks for posting on our forum, Rui C

Can you send me a screenshot of the error you’re seeing on your end, when the Dropbox app crashes?

Is the error log you’re seeing something similar to the one showing here

    Keep me posted.
