Pop-ups in my Basic account keep prompting me to re-subscribe to Plus

Hi, I have been using the Basic Plan for a while now and it has worked well. Recently, I have been getting an annoying popup requesting that I resubscribe to the Plus Plan eventhough I have always been using the Basic Plan.

The popup states "Welcome back, Michael! We noticed that your subscription has ended. Resubscribe now to not miss out on advanced productivity features and 2,000 GB or more of space."

It shows my current plan as Basic with the 'Current Plan' button greyed out and prompts me to resubscribe to the Plus Plan. The popup is very annoying and interferes with the smooth running of Dropbox. Also, any new items I add, via the browser webpage, do not show up on any device.

How can I stop this popup as I want to continue with the basic plan?

Regards,

Hello, I am having this issue too. It is asking me to resubscibe over and over, basically every time I click something I'll get a popup. I haven't had a paid subscription in years and currently have 117mB stored on Dropbox

    Hi Nancy,

I get the message when I login, when I try to access or close a file, when I change folders etc - too many times to mention. I do not get the message when adding files!

I have managed to sync my files correctly now on my other devices. If only I could get rid of that popup message! 😞

Hey M1ke41, can I send you an email, in order for us to perhaps have a closer look into this?

    Hi Megan,

Apologies for late reply! I checked back on the payments page and found that I had paid for a Dropbox Plus account for a period of one month. However, this was way back in 2018 and was for a period of only one month. Dropbox had been working ok in the interim. For some reason, it now seems to think that the particular Plus account is still active!

    Regards

Thanks for the screenshot, M1ke41! When do you get that prompt exactly? Do you see it right after signing in to your Dropbox account? Or each time you try to upload new files to it?

If you try to add a really small file to your Dropbox account now, do you receive any errors?

    Hi Hannah,

Thanks for your response and Happy New Year to you also! I have attached screenshots as requested. Please note that I have never upgraded my account nor provided bank details.

The file attachment option is not working for me so I had to post the screenshots below.

    Regards

Hey M1ke41, let me also jump in here!

Would you mind taking a look at your payments page too? It should show you any old subscription there. If not, you can try your account's billing page

In any case, it doesn't seem to be a way to remove entirely this pop-up other than closing the window by pressing the "x" on the top right part of the screen.

However, I'll forward your feedback to the appropriate areas so we can continue to improve.

As for adding new content, and not being able to see the on any of your devices: do you check the app or your account online on these devices? Have you checked that the app on these devices is up and running? If so, what is the syncing status there

Hi M1ke41, thanks for your post and happy new year!

Is it possible that you had previously upgraded your account to the Plus plan, even for a little while?

Can you please send us a (preferably full screen) screenshot of this pop-up?

And do you have enough space in your account for your files to upload and sync to your other devices?

Let me know and we'll go from there.
