"Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded"
I got an email supposedly from dropbox. with the subject "ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAP", and then saying "Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded", followed by a dropbox.com link, with the following format https://www.dropbox.com/l/XXXX0x_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxx/h (characters are different). This seems like it could be legit, but also could be some kind of scam ? Any way I can confirm what it is without clicking the link? I tried searching for it on google and got no results back.
Hey adrianxw, sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that since this email came from an official Dropbox domain, it's possible that the email was sent out in error, since this is usually an email sent out when you first create a Dropbox account.
Feel free to ignore the email and let us know if you receive any similar emails in the future.

Hey Andy Arkin, thanks for reaching out to our Community!
Can you please check if the email is coming from one of the official Dropbox domains?
This will let you know if it's legitimate.
Keep me posted.

Hi,
I had the same email on the 8th October. It came from no-reply@dropbox.com.
I was a bit confused - why would I need help setting the account up when I've used dropbox for 12 years.

I'd suggest forwarding it to abuse@dropbox.com

I did forward to that email address. It has been a few days no with no response. Not sure how long it is supposed to take for feedback.

I don't want to use the app. I've received 3 email message in November, and more in previous months. Here's an example of the email message heading:
11/24/2022, 8:42 AM
ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAPI just want to stop having to read and discard them.
I don't use Dropbox frequently, but it's great when I do need it.
Thanks for your help.

There's no setting to stop receiving them. That said, I have a couple of secondary accounts that I use only through the website and I no longer receive the emails. They likely stop after a certain amount of time.

Why am I receiving mails inviting me to download the Dropbox desktop app while I have the app since 2018 on my computer?

I got a mail with several links to links.dropbox.com, and the title "ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAP".
Is this genuine or likely malware attack ?- HannahDropbox Staff
Hey YvesMDaoust, thanks for letting us know about this.
Is the email address of the sender using one of our official Dropbox domains?
- YvesMDaoustNew member | Level 2
Yes, it does: em-s.dropbox.com
So this is genuine, right ?

I received a mail saying...
Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded
... a little puzzling. I have not tried to upload new files, the files already uploaded have been there for a very long time. What gives?
EDIT.
I have not received an error message, but none of the possibilities seem to be applicable.....

Sure, tell me how to do that and I'll try. I can also forward the mail, but I don't know if that will destroy anything.
