I am running DropBox desktop v 61.4.95 on Windows 10. If I left or right click the system tray Dropbox icon, I don't get any menu pop up. This means I have no way of accessing my preferences, including Sync settings. It works fine on a different Windows 10 PC that I have and it used to work on this PC but I don't know exactly when it stopped working.Solved11KViews2likes31CommentsClear recent and sync history.
It would be very useful -- and I know this has been mentioned many, many times on the forum -- to be able to delete the Recent and Sync history that shows *every dang time* you click the system tray icon. I have little need for the information. It would be best to allow a user to choose whether to look at the data as needed or every danged time. It would also be useful to simply be able to clear the data. There are times I do not want a visitor to see the names of other customers or clients. Medical offices, I'm sure, have troubles with this, as it could be a HIPA violation. I, honestly, yearn for the 'old' Dropbox tray app, that simply opened the local Dropbox directory and got out of the way.682Views1like2CommentsWhere are the passwords stored?
Dear All, Where are the passwords stored in the Dropbox-Password service? I mean is it stored in the dropbox account (on dropbox servers) - the same as other files? Or inside the browser add-on like localy on the PC inside browser files? Please can you explain more about this password function?Solved2.7KViews1like1CommentHow can I stop "turn on accessibility" from appearing?
I cannot get the box "turn on accessibility" off my screen. I used to check "not now" routinely but now it will not accept no. The "community forum" has not addressed this exact issue. I recently upgraded my MAC OS to Big Sur 11.2.1 FYI, I did consider turning on accessibility but I am uncomfortable with the privacy disclosure and would just rather not turn it on. Do I not have a choice because the badge has been up on my screen for years and I will have to delete it if I do not upgrade?2.9KViews1like5CommentsAvast blocks opening Dropbox Web site from the application
When trying to launch the Dropbox Web site, from the icon of the application, Avast blocks it identifying it as phising (see attached image). It happens also when trying to reach Dropbox from the links ("Share..","Version History", etc.) of a file in the local folder. Reinstalling Dropbox, or unlinking/linking to the account, does not solve it. (Otherwise, there is no problem when opening the Dropbox web site by login in the web browser.) I am using macOs Catalina and Chrome.Solved9.2KViews1like53Comments"No internet connection"
I badly need help with my dropbox desktop client. This happened before and a simple uninstall/reinstall did the trick. Last week, the always connecting issue happened again. I tried reinstalling the client even to a newer version but it now says, "No internet connection". The issue first happened in my laptop. Thinking that it was only in my laptop, I checked my pc and noticed that the very same problem is also there. I have searched high and low for a solution and based on the multiple suggestions from people with a similar problem, I have made these troubleshooting steps to no avail. 1. Uninstall, reinstall (even removing the %appdata% folder) 2. Run windows 8.1 in safe mode with networking 3. Tried resetting netsh 4. Changed the preferences to "No proxy" and making sure that my connections are set to "no proxy" as well 5. Turned off all firewalls and antivirus programs. 5. Tried resetting my modem and router (thinking that it might be a connection problem). 6. Hardwired both my pc and laptop 7. Scanned my laptop and pc for malwares but none have been found (maybe far-fetched but worth trying) My PC is on windows 7 while my laptop is on windows 8.1. What's troubling me is I can't access dropbox even on safe mode. Please help. Thanks!Solved10KViews1like5Comments
