I'm unable to see folders that others have shared with me on my desktop app.
I am not sure how to word this, so bear with me, please. 🙂
My computer is a few years old and doesn't have much hard drive space, so when I went to clean up the hard drive a bit, dropbox asked if I wanted to save ram? rom? ram? by only showing my folders, not the folders for the others in my group. We have a quintet of musicians, a brass quintet, and we each have a folder where we put our music and we all just access everything through Dropbox. So basically I said, yeah, just show me mine on the computer, and I can see the other folders with my ipad that I use for reading music.
But now when I'm on my computer and I need to see someone else's folder, I can't get to it at all. It just doesn't show up on my computer, which is how I set it, but I want to go back to the way it was so I can see the other folders. I have looked at everything in settings and preferences, etc, and have been trying for 6 months but I cannot find anything that will allow me to see all the folders from my end when I'm on the computer.
I have to see a particular song that's in someone else's file, and it has to be on the computer.
I hope this makes sense. Thank you!

It sounds like you removed the folders using Selective Sync. Go back into Select Sync settings and check the folders again.

Hi, and thanks for writing. I couldn't find preferences, or my account, or anything else, because whenever I clicked on Dropbox, a regular microsoft window would open and show me the files - it was not opening an app. Once I figured out I was supposed to have an app, not just the window, I downloaded the app. I thought I had downloaded it, and I've had this computer for years, so it should have been there, but somehow it wasn't there. So I (re)installed it. I finally found preferences, then the sync settings and from there I was fine. So actually the whole problem was that my app had disappeared and I had to redownload it to find the place to change those settings. Maybe my mention of this will help someone in the future. 🙂
Thanks again!
