Dropbox 217.4.4417 on MacOS Sequoia 15.3 doesn't stop indexing
I installed Dropbox 217.4.4417 on a new Mac with Sequoia 15.3 OS. After logging in it never managed to pass the indexing stage.
I tried the following:
- Logging out and logging back in;
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the application (also using advanced reinstallation);
- Fixing the hardlinks as suggested here [https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001014/dropbox-stuck-indexing-files/680930];
- Giving access to full hard disk;
Nothing seems to fix the issue.
I can see by monitoring Dropbox via Activity Monitor that it doesn't use almost any CPU/GPU and it does not use almost any network resources. Nevertheless, the app is still saying it is "indexing".
Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi whatsgoingon1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Is the Dropbox folder located in the CloudStorage location?
Can you let me know how long the Dropbox app has been indexing files?
Also, please right click on your local Dropbox folder, go to Properties/Get info and send me a screenshot of what you see after that.
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the screenshot and the additional information whatsgoingon1
Can you just clarify if it's been stuck at indexing the exact same number of files and if you're able to see any syncing icons on your files in the Dropbox folder?
A screenshot of the app's status as shown in your menu bar would also help!

Thank you Walter.
It doesn't provide any number, it simply writes "Indexing...".

Hey whatsgoingon1, can you also check the rest of the troubleshooting steps provided here, to see if anything helps?

Thanks Hannah, I tried the only thing in the troubleshooting that I didn't try before which is adding it under Accessibility. However, I am still stuck on "Indexing...".

Update: I tried logging in with the account of a friend who has almost no file in their dropbox and it indexed and synced immediately. So the problem is not in the installation.
In my Dropbox folder, I have order 600GB of files. However, on my Linux computers, it has never taken more than a few hours to sync. Even indexing was giving indication of progress, here instead I only see "Indexing...". Furthermore, I am sync a single folder with 8 items in it.
Is there a problem on my account? What can it be?- Nancy

So, from what I understand, there are no files/folders that appear within your local Dropbox folder.
Were there any folders prevented from syncing locally? If not, can you de-selected all of them, but one, by using selective sync to see if that makes a difference?
One more way to test this is by creating a new user profile on your computer and installing Dropbox there. If you choose the option to not have most of your files sync locally, while signing in, does the app still get stuck at indexing?
