My Dropbox is on two computers in different places can I get a 3rd computer & sign into Dropbox onit

My Dropbox is on two computers in different houses. can I get a 3rd computer & sign into Dropbox on it? It would be in the same house as one of the computers. (I realize location may not make a difference). I think I have a basic plan but am not sure.

  • Hi JenAnneS,

For Basic plan, you can connect up to 3 devices (all together - including mobile). You can see what's connected already here. So, if you have only 2 devices, you can connect one more. If you need, you can disconnect some already connected device there to left a free "place". The devices place doesn't matter.

    Hope this helps.

Hi JenAnneS, thanks for messaging the Community!

If you are on a Dropbox Basic plan, then you can have at most 3 devices connected to your account. This means 3 computer logins (so a different login on the same computer would be a new 'device'), and mobile devices inclusive.

You can check the number of devices connected on your account from this page.
