4 years agomy files disappeared.
I installed the dropbox on my MAC and it automatically uploaded some files.
However when I entered the dropbox, it is not there. it is an important file and I cannot miss it. Can someone help me? I already looked at the list of deleted files and there is nothing. I did it on Tuesday, the 26th, and on the 27th, I was no longer. I already did the backward process but the file just disappeared. I don't know what else to do! when i try to open the file in Word, it appears that it is in the dropbox in the following path: users / paulobarros / dropbox / mymac / desktop / filename but when I open the drop, there is nothing. HELP PLEASE!!!

I have no idea which "Board" I should put this on, but all of our files and other things have disappeared from Dropbox. There are about 3 files left. Is there anything we can do. This is important stuff because we run support groups and we are funded by the government. Obviously we need accurate records, which we have, or thought we did. We have been using Dropbox for 6 years. We did have a hiccup a couple of years ago, which we managed to sort out eventually. This is really beyond stressful. Thank you for any help that you can give us.

Sorry to hear about your files missing, APSN.
Have you checked your deleted files page and your events page, to see if you can locate them there?
- APSNExplorer | Level 3
Thank you Hannah. Yes, I have checked those with no luck.

I have no idea what happened, i logged into my dropbox (use it daily) and today everything is gone, i have dropbox for over a decade. I had 25GB from when they started i referred tons of people.
For some reason i was logged out, so I looged back in, i think i may have accidently logged in using GMAIL login with the same Dropbox gmail email address i had before. Could this have wiped out everything?
How can i get back my old login with all my files.
I can get in, but i see nothing, no files and folders, just a few files from 2018 like 3 or so...
Help please!

Sorry to hear about this, Iike.
Did you take a look at your deleted files page and your events page, to see if you can find the files?
- IikeHelpful | Level 5
yah looked at both, only events are ones from today..... and nothing in deleted items.
Account used to be 25GB (free account from all my referrals) now its a regular 2GB account without ANY of my files... 😞 i am about to cry..... had so much backup on there. I even tried to get a PAID account now and i upgrade, but still EMPTY no files.
Any idea anyone? please!

Logged in to my dropbox account today, that I've been using for many years. And then dropbox tells me "Welcome, lets get started" like I logged in to a new account. All my files are gone, both in the web-account and locally on the computer.. It even says my email adress isn't verified.
Tried to reach out for customer support, but only gets directed to the helpcenter with standards FAQ, or a chatbot.
Please help me someone?!

Thanks for reaching out to us, 2rerik, and sorry to hear about this.
When was the last time you had access to the account and your files?
Is it possible that it's been more than 12 months? If that's the case, the account could have been deleted due to inactivity.

I had access to my account and files a week ago

It looks like the files might not have synced properly after the crash. Check your Dropbox account online or contact support they might be able to help recover the missing files. Hang in there!

I recently lost all my files back to 7/2023. I use dropbox on a daily basis. I've changed computers, I've logged out and back in again. Any suggestions?
- HannahDropbox Staff
Sorry to hear about this, LennyH.
When you say you lost your files, do you mean that they were deleted, or are you just not able to see them in your account?
Are you sure you're logged in to the correct account?
And what do you see in your deleted files and events pages?
