Video transcript error message
I keep getting the error message "There was an error loading the transcript" for all my videos when trying to generate a transcript. The length doesn't matter, it happens with 1-minute videos and 30- or 60- minute videos. The format is mp4. All videos are played correctly in the preview. The audio is clear and in English. Any suggestions?

I see many posts on this topic, and I tried what I can. Deleting cache, using different browsers, using different computers, getting other users in my country to access the audio file, but all with the same error message. The interesting thing is that when I asked another person from another country to access the same file, there is no issue with the transcription.
Have to add that I was once successful after deleting cache to get the transcription. I was so excited. However, the subsequent file's transcription could not be generated even with deleting cache.
What can I do?

I also have this issue. I am studying in a second language and the transcribe feature is essential for me! Cleared cache and tried different servers plus incognito. Is there any movement on how to solve this issue at all? Help please...

I'm having this issue now with a video that I have literally watched with the transcription before. The live captions are working, but not the transcription on the side bar. Did it ever get resolved?

Hi All!
I'm having the same issue....it started the end of last week, and I am using the original links (I am the owner of the audio and video files), but am still getting the "There was an error loading the transcript" message. Old transcripts are not being loaded, and new transcripts are not being generated.
I'm on a Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.5 using Google Chrome... I cleared my cache and tried using Safari but same issue. The audio files are .m4a and range in size from 2 MB to 51 MB, and the video files are .mp4 and are approximately 350 - 400 MB.
Just wanted to chime in with my voice and say "you are not alone" 😀 and to the wonderful Dropbox support peeps, "please help"! 🙏🥰
Also this is my very first post in the community....so I hope I did it "right"! 😁😅

Was working fine up until that day.
Audio files are approximately 10MB....Audio only.

Could you please clear your browser's cache and/or try another browser and let us know if this persists?
Also, what is the file type of the files you notice this on, and their sizes?

Was this problem ever resolved? I'm getting the same error: "There was an error loading the transcript". I opened the same videos in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, as well as in incognito mode without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried clearing my browser history, safari, chrome. Downloaded Firefox. Ran incognito windows. Nothing is working.

Sorry to hear about that, aboissonneault. When did you notice this issue for the first time?
What video formats are you having this issue with? What’s their size and duration?

Both Brave (incognito window) and Chrome (fresh install just to test) give me the same error (attached). Works as it should on Firefox.
I can use Firefox as a workaround but my production browser is Brave, please look into this.
